Who We Are

Hey. We’re CarterGore. And the short version? We’re a maverick British jewellery brand based in the North West of England.

We’re makers. We’re revellers. We’re believers that the best things in life are made with soul and made by hand. Which is why every single one of our pieces starts out with a pencil to paper and finishes with the final polish from the very same set of hands.

Founded in 2016, by Gary and Cathy, CarterGore always was and always will be a passion project. Born out of a lifelong love for jewellery and the story we attach to pieces that mean the most to us. Pieces that live with us. That speak of us and what we believe in.

So that’s what we make. Stories. Emblems of your life. Chapters of your personality. Hand-drawn and hand made in solid silver and gold to withstand the grind of time.

Our Products

All our products are made right here in Britain, drawn by hand and cut with a big old laser. State-of-the-art, the level of detail this thing is capable of is insane, which is why we can range our designs from a large pendant necklace to a teenie-tiny charm. They’re made of either solid 925 Sterling Silver or 375 9 carat Yellow Gold, both finished and polished by hand.

They’re designed to collect, and made to keep - manufactured through a process that’s borderline obsessive on quality and craftsmanship.

We believe in creativity

Our process is unhindered. By anything or anyone. We’re the designers and we’re the manufacturers, so we can take an idea to finished product in a matter of hours, if inspiration strikes. We add to our collection when we’ve made a new piece we feel is truly special. Not before and not after. Exactly when it’s ready. Creativity is wild and it is free, so we let it be.

We believe in authenticity

As you explore our range, you’ll notice that behind every design is symbology, or meaning. It might not be what it means to you, and that’s what we love most about CarterGore. But every piece is heavily researched, drawn and redrawn before making it to the laser. Every piece has its own soul. As such, we solemnly swear that we won’t pump out meaningless crap just to make a few quid.

We believe in craftsmanship

If something is worth making, it’s worth making well. Although there are machines that could draw our designs for us, Gary still sketches them by hand. Painstakingly placing each line, each heart. We could have outsourced the manufacturing, but Gary still hand finishes each piece and Cathy wraps it up, with love. There’s infinite integrity to something made by hand and we uphold it with authentic care for the craft.

Our Designs

Where does it start? Well, usually, with you. From the very beginning, most of our designs have started off as commissions. And everything from casual suggestions to comments. (Yeah, we’re easily creatively triggered). We’re inspired by our customers and what they want to see next.

Then, we do the digging. The research. We crawl inside and outside of the meaning, the history, the iconography of an idea to find the perfect architecture for the design. Sketches become drawings. And drawings become blue prints. Each tiny line, dot and detail of our exquisitely rich designs has been perfected in pencil first.
